The short answer is yes, they will!
Part of the process of sewing clothing involves adjusting patterns to fit to your body. Like all bodies, petite bodies and tall bodies vary, and not every petite person or tall person needs a pattern adjustment in the same area. You might be petite and have shorter legs but have a long torso. You might be tall with long legs and a short torso. Knowing how to adjust a pattern to get it exactly right for your body is a powerful skill, and not hard to do!
We have some great resources that will help you make the changes you need for a great fit. We created a free downloadable PDF called the Four Height Zones to help you gather the information you need to make adjustments to your pattern where you need it. We recommend printing it out and writing your height measurements on it to keep in your sewing journal.
Compare these measurements to the corresponding landmarks on your pattern pieces, and you'll know how much you need to shorten or lengthen that part of the pattern.
